Dennis W.
Wormington routinely represents our clients in complex civil litigation
involving Personal Injury, Mass Torts, Toxic Torts, Environmental Law,
Insurance, Commercial and Consumer Protection issues as well as handling
hearings and trials surrounding these matters. Prior to joining our firm, Mr.
Wormington served as Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the Twenty-Second Judicial
District for the State of Arkansas. During his appointment to that office, Mr.
Wormington was responsible for prosecution of felony, misdemeanor, traffic and
juvenile violations. He is also credited with implementing the first community
based prosecution program in Arkansas. Mr. Wormington is a member of the
American Bar Association, the Arkansas Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas,
the Texas Young Lawyers Association, the Texarkana Bar Association, the
Texarkana Young Lawyers Association and the Defense Research Institute. He is a
former associate member of the National District Attorney's Association and the
American Prosecutor's Research Institute.
Mr. Wormington received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and
Biology from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1996, where he served
as the Student Body President for two consecutive terms, a feat that had never
been accomplished in the 100 year history of the University. Three years later,
he received his Juris Doctorate degree from the William H. Bowen School of Law
at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Thereafter, he was admitted to the
Arkansas Bar in 2000 and the Texas Bar in 2004. He is also admitted to practice
before the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Texas and the U.S.
District Courts in the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas. Mr. Wormington
has served as an instructor and lecturer for the National District Attorney's
Association, the American Prosecutor's Research Institute, the Office of the
Prosecutor Coordinator for the State of Arkansas, the Arkansas Prosecuting
Attorney's Association and the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards
and Training. He authored Solutions Aren't Always in the Courtroom, which was
formally presented at the 2003 National Community Prosecution Conference in
Washington, D.C. Mr. Wormington also serves on the Adjunct Faculty of the
Criminal Justice Departments at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and
Texas A&M University - Texarkana. Prior to his admission to the practice of law,
Mr. Wormington worked as a criminal investigator for the Saline County
Prosecuting Attorney's Office, a patrol officer for the City of Benton, Arkansas
and as a emergency medical technician with Metropolitan Emergency Medical
Services in Little Rock, Arkansas.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Wormington serves as the
President of the Board
of Directors of the Texarkana Soccer Association and is a former member of the Board of Directors of
the Pleasant Grove Youth Association, in addition to coaching several youth soccer and
baseball teams. He is a certified United States Soccer Federation Referee, a
member of the National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association, a member of
the Texas Association of Sports Officials and a member of the Arkansas Officials
Association. Through those associations, he referees recreational, competitive,
high school and NCAA soccer throughout the area. He also serves as the District Referee Administrator for the Arkansas State Soccer
Association, where he is responsible for the education and registration of some
150 referees in southern Arkansas. Mr. Wormington also maintains his medical
certification and is affiliated with LifeNet, Inc. Emergency Medical Services in
Bowie County, Texas. He serves as the Coordinator of LifeNet's Bicycle Medic
Team. Originally from Texarkana, Mr. Wormington recently returned home with his
wife and their three young sons. Mr. Wormington and his family are very involved
in community activities and attend First Baptist Church in Texarkana.
